A year from now, where will you be?
Will you have started writing your badass newsletter?
Will you have learned a new skill?
Will you be making videos or recording a podcast?
Will you be working in your dream job?
Will you have quit your dull job and gone out on your own?
For me, a year ago, I’d recently returned from a long overdue trip back to see my family in the UK—it had been a trip I’d been dreading for various reasons.
A year ago my newsletter (the one you’re reading now) was a little over a year old and I was beginning to wonder why I was bothering with it.
A year before that, I’d been spinning my wheels, planning things but not getting anything done.
The newsletter you want to start? Start it now—begin today.
Yes, I know that getting up and running is scary—been there, done that—but even more terrifying is sitting there, wanting, hoping for something to happen and for nothing to happen because you’re too trapped in the planning phase, or because you’re too afraid of what people will think.
My point here is simply this: start now. You have nothing to lose and really, everything to gain.
If things don’t work out, see the result as a learning experience and not as a failure.
Take that experience and use it to retool your approach next time.
And the time after that.
And the time after that if needs be.
Keep going.
Get started.
Do something.
And then, once you’re on your way, keep doing it: keep showing up. Keep at it.
And a year from now, look back on what you’ve accomplished and be proud of how far you’ve come.
As always, thanks for reading.
