SHAKING THE TREE ... #14
From goldfish to ducks
Are your ducks in a row … ready for whatever’s next?
Mine are.
Well at least, they are now.
But this wasn’t always the case.
For the longest time my ducks—my content creation ducks at least—were all over the place.
I had no plan, no audience in mind, and no real content strategy to speak of.
While ducks are known for their ability to adapt to changing environments and situations, working together as a team to achieve a common goal, such as flying in a V-formation to conserve energy during long flights.
Me? I used to stubbornly resist any and all influence to get it together.
For me, getting organized for content creation was a struggle.
That was, until I learned the hard way of the importance of starting out by defining my goals and target audience.
Then, creating a content plan or editorial calendar to map out my topics and deadlines.
And making sure I gathered together all the necessary research and resources I’d need beforehand to save time later on.
And before I learned about the importance of setting up and using templates and outlines to streamline my writing process.
Before establishing a system for reviewing and editing my content before publishing it.
By following these steps I learned to improve the efficiency of my content creation process.
Who knows, maybe these points resonate with you.
As always, thanks for reading.
